The
Langdale Valleys have an incredible history that
dates back to an early axe factory located here.
In medieaval days, the Valleys were home to a
woolen mill and in the mid- 1800's the Elterwater
Gunpowder Works was formed by a local group of
businessmen. Today, the Valleys are recognised
as one of the most beautiful places in the Lake
District with two vibrant villages that support
the local businesses, residents and those who
work in the Valleys.
